Sarah Turpin - Head Chef
Returning home from Auckland, Sarah arrived at the Nor'Wester in September 2005 to take up her first post as Head Chef.  She did her apprenticeship through the Millennium Hotel, Christchurch under Tony Smith, then Sonya Paget.  During that time she earned an opportunity for an overseas stint at the prestigeous Gleneagles in Scotland, then down to Bath, England to work for Chef Martin Blunous in his 2 Michelin Star restaurant Blini"s.  She also took the opportunity to travel Europe and Morroco. Returning to NZ she took up working at the Stamford Plaza, Auckland, then George Restaurant in Parnell, both with Sonya.  So, Canterbury girl come home to deliver her fresh style.

Dylan Amyes - Sous Chef
His first taste of kitchen life began with a stint in a restaurant in Ireland, which was owned by the manager of the rugby team he was contracted to there.  On returning home, the local freezing works gave him good butchery skills, which is one of his passions.  He came to the Nor'Wester as a trainee chef in February 2003.  While working with us, Dylan has completed his cookery qualifications with CPIT and with HSI.  His skill, leadership and passion for food has seen him excel through our kitchen.
